non-linear power point instructions
Everyone has probably used Power Point already, but not in this way. Instead of going in a specific order, we're going to create a PPT that allows the person viewing it to click through in any order they'd like.
Here are the instructions on what to do once you get all 25 slides (with all of your facts on each one).
1. Go back to your title page.
2. Use the "rectangle" tool at the bottom of the page to draw a box over your first picture, first letter of the alphabet, first number, etc. It will be a nasty blue color. Do not overlap too much.
3. Right click the box.
4. Choose "Action Settings."
5. Select the little dot next to "Hyperlink..."
6. In the drop down box, select "Slide...."
7. Pick the correct slide out of the list that you want to match it up to.....then hit "OK"
8. You've got it linked up now, but that ugly box is still in the way. Get rid of the nasty blue by double clicking twice (left click) on the box. Change the blue color to "NO FILL." Change the line color to "NO LINE." Hit Ok.
DONE! Now you get to hook up every one of the pictures/letters/numbers on your title page to the correct slide.
If you finish that.....you can go to each of your information slides and insert a "HOME" button. It's under "AUTOSHAPES, then ACTION BUTTONS." It looks like a house. Just insert this house on every one of your information slides. You do NOT need to link it up. It already is.
