Marshall Public Schools Enrollment Line Graph
Today we will track the enrollment of students in Marshall Public Schools for the last 10 years. However, we will use a line graph since we are tracking data over time.
In Excel, our two columns will be "Year" and "Enrollment." Put this in Column A and in Column B.
Now, go to this site to find our data: Click here to open in New Window
Select "MARSHALL" from the list of schools. Check "Select All" for the year. Then hit "View Report" on the right.
This will load a new page with a line graph. But we don't want that. We want to click on the little blue arrow to go to page 2.
Once you get on page 2, you will see a comparison of Marshall to the entire state of Missouri. We want to look at the row titled "Total Enrollment." Copy these numbers down in your Excel chart for every year. For example, your number for 2003 is 2,385.
Get all 10 years, then highlight it and make a good line graph (remember your titles and axis labels)!
